It's a bit quiet on here - I may just have to go to bed quite soon.

We did have a Corrie "special" last night to celebrate the anniversary, with Debbie Travis -- do you guys know her? Home decorating guru, originally from Salford, so she went back for a visit, to look at the little terrace house she grew up in, right across the street from the factory where her dad worked all his life -- now a four-storey abandoned and crumbling brick building. (We make trendy loft apartments out of them here now, surely they do there too?)

Half of what she talked about with the cast was how careful cast members have to be when they do appearances in Canada, not to come out with spoilers. Canadians are apparently more devoted to their Corrie than the English. The cast thinks it's because Canadians "get" the humour.

We only have trouble with the really annoying teenagers, like Rosie and Sophie and the original Deirdre's daughter -- that one I wanted to grab by the throat and excavate whatever she had her mouth full of. These days the local accent just doesn't seem to be as much in evidence on the street.

The Liverpool accent, that's my standing joke -- I speak French well, Spanish passably, dribs and drabs of other this and that. I could communicate with a wide range of clients when I was in immigration practice -- French West Africans (and some Somalis and Lebanese and such) in French, Latin Americans in Spanish, could even get by a bit with a Brazilian client speaking Portuguese and me speaking Spanish. And of course with clients who spoke English with every accent imaginable.

But the one I couldn't understand a word of when she telephoned me was ... the young woman from Liverpool. ;) Not a word ...

Am going to Google some more sites - other than BBC - see what is said

Dea....Ann Widdicombe went out last Saturday. I loved watching her as I enjoy the show for its entertainment value......not really into dancing competitions. I like Matt Baker - he's so versatile - I mean, one minute he's on his farm in Northumberland, then he's presenting the One Show and suddenly he's impersonating Austin Powers and doing a fantastic acrobatic dance routine. Nice one.
